Pupils from Oversands School recently tackled rapid waters as they explored the River Tweed in Scotland to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Award expedition.

The budding adventurers worked together to canoe from Peebles in the Scottish Borders to Selkirk and along the way, they camped overnight next to the river and enjoyed a barbecue. During their stopover, they shared stories around the fire and took the time to relax and recharge for the following day’s adventure – a 13 mile paddle to their destination.

Stuart Dancer, Team Leader proudly commented:

All the boys worked amazingly well as s a team and all arrived safely in Selkirk, some drier than others!

Well done everyone!
