We have a formal admissions procedure to ensure that we are able to meet a child’s needs, so that they can make rapid progress in education and develop socially and emotionally at our school.
Range of needs
Our dedicated staff will spend time finding out what your child enjoys and what they are interested in, so that their interests are integrated in their learning experience. This along with other needs feature in their Individual Care and Education Plans, which sets targets to address areas for development.
Following your child starting you will be involved in discussions about their education on a regular basis. For example, through daily home-school diaries, Post Admission Review, Annual Reviews and in the writing of Individual Education Plans.
Our dedicated, experienced team of teaching staff, support staff and our Pastoral Care Team are dedicated to ensuring that our pupils feel safe, settled, calm, self-regulated and ready to learn.
We cater for pupils with a range of needs, including the following:
- Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Speech, language and communication needs associated with ASD.
- Mild/Moderate learning difficulties
- Specific learning difficulties
- Sensory processing needs
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Admissions procedure
The first step of the process is for a referral to be made by the local authority to our school admissions team. The referral will usually include the child or young person’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Our admissions team will then identify if we can meet needs and, if so, will liaise with the local authority and parents or carers to organise a visit to the school.
During the visit, we will provide a tour of our school and the young person and their parents or carers will meet with the Head Teacher. Following a successful school visit, an offer letter will be sent to the local authority with a suggested start date. Once the offer of a place has been accepted, parents or carers will be advised and transition can begin. Visits are welcomed from parents, carers and professionals. Please contact the school directly if you would like to arrange a visit.

SEN information report
As a parent or carer we understand you will have plenty of questions when considering the best school for your child.
Our SEN Information Report, sometimes referred to as the Local Offer, attempts to answer many of these. We will also be happy to answer any questions over the phone or arrange for you and your child to visit the school, so please just get in touch.
Pupil information
Before starting with us, we provide all of our pupils with a handbook to help them learn about the daily routines at our school including timings for the day, lesson information and reward systems.
To kick start the day we have a breakfast club where pupils are able to settle into school prior to their school day starting, which is the perfect opportunity to catch up with their friends and teaching staff.
There is a full range of activities offered to pupils during lunch and break times. We also have a variety of enrichment activities that are part of the curriculum, such as trips to places of interest as well as field trips and much, much more.
