Young people at The Birches Children’s Home recently sorted through their clothes and belongings to kindly donate items they no longer use to the Southport Lifeboat charity shop.

Opened in 2006, the shop has become one of the biggest sources of income for the Southport Lifeboat which helps to save lives along the coastline. They also plan to raise money to build a new lifeboat station that will have a huge impact on the safety of the Southport community.

The donations from the young people will not only help the charity shop to raise funds but also, by setting an example of donating their unwanted belongings, they hope to encourage others to follow in their footsteps and make a difference to their local area.

Well done everyone!
