World Book Day Celebrated at Cedar House Lower School
Pupils from Cedar House Lower School recently transformed themselves into their favourite book characters for World Book Day. World Book Day celebrates authors, illustrators, books and reading, and is marked in the calendars of over 100 countries all over the world to help encourage children to read.
Andrew Elvey, Lower School Coordinator took some time out to share with us the fun they had.
Throughout the day, pupils listened out for the sounding of a fog horn which was a signal for all our eager readers to stop what they were doing and pick up a book to read or if they were very lucky, then a guest from the School Leadership Team came in and read a story. Pupils also requested to read their favourite book to their friends.
It was a fun day filled with great reading and listening, the perfect opportunity to show their progress in learning and confidence.
The only mystery of the day was who sounded the fog horn?
Well done everyone!
