Witherslack Hall School has provided life changing outcomes for a diverse group of boys with a range of behaviour, emotional and social special needs since 1972. Like all other residential school provision in the Group, Witherslack Hall has been assessed as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and enjoys a national reputation for working with highly complex and challenging pupils.

The school excels in the teaching of specialist vocational subject areas including Motor Vehicle Engineering, Catering, Construction, Environmental Studies, ICT, Physical Education, Art and Design and Food Technology. Starting from the SUMMER TERM Witherslack Hall will offer this provision to girls too!

“It is vital that as a Group our provision accurately reflect the needs of each local authority and we have noted a steady rise in the need for high quality day and termly residential provision for girls with more complex behaviour, emotional and social special needs and may demonstrate risk taking behaviour including self-harm. The relocation and development of Cedar House School last year, along with the development of single (and some double) ensuite accommodation for girls at Witherslack Hall, will help us work in partnership with authorities to meet this growing need. We are constantly and rigorously reviewing our schools and children’s homes for ways in which they can improve to deliver even better outcomes for the young people in our care. We believe that in developing our high quality provision at Witherslack Hall to provide for girls both on a day and residential basis we will provide a more ‘rounded’ education and care provision for pupils at the school now and in the future.”
