The second annual Witherslack Group Conference aims to support parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs by sharing expert practical advice and support. This year’s speakers offer a wide range of extensive experience and expertise across the SEN sector.
We are delighted to announce that the Keynote Speaker will be Dr Madeleine Portwood. Dr Portwood has been a practising Psychologist for 25 years specialising in Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD); Specific Learning Difficulties: Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Conditions; Sensory Impairment; and Early Years.
As well as leading Witherslack Group’s Therapeutic Team, she is the Education Advisor for the Dyspraxia Foundation and an executive member of ESPA (Education and Services for People with Autism). Madeleine is also a spokesperson for the British Psychological Society on child development, neurodevelopmental disorders and mental health.
The line-up of speakers also includes two Head Teachers of Ofsted outstanding independent, specialist schools: Sue Asher and John Gilfillan. Both speakers boast impressive backgrounds in helping to transform the lives of young people by creating unique and individualised learning environments and support structures.
You will also be able to access bite sized workshops and sessions delivered by expert therapeutic practitioners.
