Zoo Visit Brings Science To Life
19 February 2020
Polar Bears Class from Westmorland School recently visited Blackpool Zoo as part of their learning in Science where they have been focusing on the topic of fossils. The day full of learning and exploration was great fun and to tell us all about it, Lauren Strachan, Teacher shares the highlights of the day.
During the visit, pupils enjoyed a very interactive lesson where they got to hold a real elephant tooth and they couldn’t quite believe how heavy it was. They also looked at skeletons of giraffe legs and were amazed at how tall the baby giraffe was. The most exciting part of the day was when they had an opportunity to stroke a bearded dragon – what a brave bunch!
They certainly look like they enjoyed themselves!
