The Grange Learning Centre picks up award
Pupils and staff at The Grange Learning Centre have been working together to complete environmental projects as part of an award from the Woodland Trust
The award is a fantastic way to enhance the school’s green credentials, whilst also inspiring pupils about woods, trees and everything in between. As part of the award, the school has been gaining points for completing activities and have progressed through bronze, silver and now are celebrating achieving the gold level.
The pupils got stuck into all sorts of activities that encouraged them to explore the outdoors including:
- Looking through the eyes of an animal and taking photos from their view
- Taking part in a school assembly on the importance of planting trees
- Drawing their own woodland animal and writing a small story about it
- Planting over 840 trees
As well as these activities, the pupils also covered other aspects of woodland management as well.
Now that they have achieved the gold award, they are now working together to gain the platinum award – only the best for the team at The Grange Learning Centre.
Well done everyone!
