Exemplary home-school relationship
Staff from Queensmead House School are delighted as they have recently been awarded the Leading Parent Partnership Award.
This award supports schools to work in partnership with parents and carers by increasing parental participation in school life and improving pupil progress, punctuality, attendance and behaviour. The framework encourages parents to be involved in their children's learning leading to improved outcomes in all aspects of school life.
Head Teacher Melissa Farnham shares more detail:
"Family Liaison Officer, Stephanie Shirley has worked closely with our community of parents across the school to develop strong and open relationships. She has built a suite of bi-weekly forums throughout the school year that have secured a network and instilled confidence in parents. The school staff team have worked with her to develop a great package that the assessor stated was exemplary, with ideas he would encourage other schools to work towards the ward and to implement."
She continued:
"I would like to thank the staff for working together to ensure that every parent, carer and young person is at the centre of what we all do."
Well done everyone.
