Pupils raise more than £650 for local charity

17 December 2021

Pupils and staff from Oversands School came together to take part in a charity bike ride on Saturday 6 December to raise money and awareness for a great local cause.

The pupils discussed at length the charities they would like to help, and after much deliberation, came to the decision and chose St. Mary’s Hospice in Ulverston as their charity of choice.

The 20-mile bike ride around Coniston Lake was organised by Care Manager Karen Appleby and the staff team. Ready and raring to go, they completed the challenge by working together and encouraging one another to complete the mammoth task in hand.

Their tremendous efforts paid off as they were delighted to visit and present the hospice team with a cheque of £652.60 and were equally thrilled to tuck into a Christmas lunch with staff in the hospice’s orangery.

The team are already planning to raise more money for St. Mary’s Hospice in the future.

A massive well done to everyone involved! How inspiring are they?
