We are delighted to announce that Pontville School has been announced as the winner of the National Association of Independent Schools & Non-Maintained Special Schools (NASS) Awards at an awards ceremony at the The Belton Woods Hotel, Grantham.

The school has won the NASS 2018 Innovation Award for their outdoor learning in the school’s purpose built farm and forest school areas.

Delighted with the win, Head Teacher, Justine Sims commented:

‘Well we could not be more delighted to receive the innovation award for our fantastic outdoor learning areas. Both the farm and forest school areas provide our young people with fabulous outdoor environments where they can learn. It has developed our curriculum offer across all age ranges including exploratory play for our youngest pupils though to providing our older students with a range of vocational qualifications that will take them through to further education and employment. Thanks must go to all of the staff who have built these areas and care for the animals at the weekends and holidays. Also thanks to those pupils who throughout the week look after and care for the animals also.  As always, this is a brilliant Team Pontville achievement’.

Also, congratulations go to our Hall Cliffe Primary, Lakeside and Westmorland Schools for also being shortlisted as leading schools within the sector.  Well done to everyone!
