Conquering great heights
A group of pupils and staff from Pontville School recently took on The Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge, involving a 24-mile hike and an ascent of 1585 meters.
Ready and raring to go, the challenge was certainly no mean feat, but with lots of determination and a great team spirit, they all completed the hike. A special recognition goes to Year 11 pupil John and Teaching Assistant, Dave Taylor, who completed the challenge in 11 hours and 59 minutes. This was a remarkable accomplishment demonstrating their perseverance and strength.
Not only did the team conquer the physical demands of the challenge, but they also undertook it with purpose, raising sponsorship money for Cancer Research UK. They have already raised over £500, contributing to the ongoing fight against cancer and support vital research initiatives.
Well done to everyone involved for this remarkable achievement. The dedication, teamwork, and charitable spirit exhibited by pupils and staff at the school serve as a shining example to others.
