Staff, pupils and parents are celebrating at Pontville School following the publication of their latest report by Ofsted. The school has been judged as outstanding in all areas, which highlights the incredible learning environment the school offers to all of its pupils.

The Oftsed report was glowing in praise for the school, its staff and the overall approach to the education, care and support of each child.

The report noted:

  • Pupils behave outstandingly well. They are caring, active, responsible citizens who love coming to school and are proud to wear the Pontville badge.
  • The headteacher is highly ambitious, determined and innovative. She ensures that leaders, teaching staff, therapists and support workers are trained well and are effective. She also ensures that pupils receive excellent care and support to achieve their absolute best.
  • Pupils and students benefit from a highly stimulating personalised curriculum. This secures their interests and prepares them well for future education and employment.
  • Parents and carers are fully involved in the life of the school. Typically, they commented that their children make ‘unbelievable progress’. Parents, and representatives from local authorities, say that children are safe and well cared for.

Justine Sims, Head Teacher proudly commented:

We could not be any prouder of our Ofsted outcome and report which celebrates the work that our pupils, staff and families do at every level to make a difference to the children and young people at Pontville. What runs through our report is the teamwork that makes Pontville such a brilliant place to work and learn in. What was evident is how far we have come over this past three years since our last inspection and we have so many more exciting ideas for the future to continue to make improvements in all that we do at Pontville. Thanks go to the most committed and dedicated staff team (even if they are bit cheeky sometimes:))

Well done everyone.
