Pontville celebrates Elklan Award
Pupils, parents, carers and staff from Pontville School are celebrating following the announcement that they have achieved the Elklan Communication Friendly Status 2023-2026, a nationally recognised award which highlights the school's commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).
The award reflects the dedication and commitment of staff who play a pivotal role in making the school an inspirational environment where children and young people can learn and develop.
Led by Jacqui Pilling and Rachel Doherty, SENCos, and supported by Rebecca Jackson, Speech and Language Therapist, the team organised and delivered engaging training sessions that were delivered to the whole team throughout the 2022/23 academic year.
Jacqui Pilling, commented:
“We are delighted with the award. The staff team have worked hard throughout the year and the award demonstrates our passion and commitment to supporting our pupils with Speech Language and Communication Needs.”
Justine Sims, Head Teacher added:
"We are delighted to have achieved this award. It has been three years of hard work and a commitment to ensure that we are providing the very best support to our pupils."
