A league of their own
The Key Stage 4 Football Team from Pontville School continue their success on the pitch – remaining unbeaten in their league.
Head Teacher Justine Sims has all the details:
“This is the first season our players have played in a team on a full-sized pitch but the adaption has been seamless. The requirements to talk more, keep in good shape and be calm on the ball in each position have been taken on with ease and, consequently, they have won their two games marvellously.
She continued:
“Against Crosby High School, Pontville won 8-0 with goals from Kal (2), Billy, Alfie and Captain Mason (4!). In the second game against Newbridge School, Pontville won 5-0 thanks to more goals from Alfie (2) and Mason (2) and a first goal of the season from Jak who dribbled past four opponents before beating the keeper. Special praise was given from the boys to their talented teammate Meisha who played in almost every position on the pitch and was tough tackling and confidet throughout the day. She truly exemplified what an all-round footballer must be like.
Go team!
