Reaching new heights
Proud pupils and the team at Pontville School recently celebrated pupil Elliot’s success as he was awarded a gold medal in long jump, a silver medal in high jump, and achieved a personal best.
Elliot began the year competing at England Athletics National Para Indoor Championships in Sheffield, where he won a gold medal in long jump. Impressively, he is now the National Para Indoor Champion in both indoor and outdoor competitions.
The success didn’t stop there. The impressive athlete then went on to compete in the Northern Under 17 Indoor Championships, where he brought home a silver medal, and even beat his personal best with an outstanding result of 1.86 metres.
To further cement his place in the world of athletics, last year in October, he received an email stating he had been selected for the England Para Academy, on the basis of his potential. This recognition will open up many exciting opportunities for the rising star.
Elliot’s accomplishments are a testament to his hard work and dedication. His relentless pursuit of excellence has inspired his friends to strive for success. As he continues to reach new heights in his athletic journey, the team at Pontville looks forward to celebrating future successes with him.
