Pontville Blog 136: WOW Day celebrated at Pontville

09 October 2020

Pupils and staff from Pontville School had the perfect start to the year by taking part in several themed activities within their key stage bubble groups for a WOW Day, a day which helps pupils raise their aspirations, challenge gender stereotypes, open young people’s eyes to a world of exciting possibilities and motivate them to work hard.

During the day, Elvis and his band showcased some amazing vocals and dance moves, whilst Teacher, Paul Rossington shared his talent of playing the guitar to pupils. The Katumba Team, a drumming, and movement group based in Merseyside provided some inspiring educational drumming sessions, and leader, Richie shared some fantastic feedback of the day:

Today we have witnessed more progress in the short sessions than we have had in other educational settings.

Pupils and staff also enjoyed a variety of different music genres during the silent disco, while some pupils explored shirt printing and rolled up their sleeves to create their lanyards using their unique designs.

To end their fun-filled day pupils and staff enjoyed a visit by the local ice cream van – what a treat!

Well done everyone.
