Pontville Blog 134: GCSE results celebrated by students and staff
This year’s GCSE results have yet again been the cause of celebration for our students, their families and staff from Pontville School.
Results day shines a light on the success and progress of our students and the support and guidance of our teaching, care and therapy staff. This year’s results, more than ever, deserve real celebration in light of the challenges that the Covid-19 pandemic has presented to everyone.
Some individual highlights include:
Joseph celebrated nine GCSEs at grade 4 and above, including four grade 7s, in English Language, Maths and Combined Science and three 6s in English Literature, History and Art.
Oliver achieved six GCSEs at grade 4 and above, including Maths at Level 7 and three more at Grade 5 including English Language and Combined Science.
Toby gained nine GCSE at grade 4 and above, including two grade 6s in English Language and History and two grade 5s in English Literature and Photography.
Mikey achieved 8 GCSE at grade 4 and above, including grade 7 in English Language and History, grade 6 in English Literature and Grade 5 in Combined Sciences.
Our 16 to 19 students came celebrated their results too.
Woody achieved a grade B in AS History, grade B in his Level 3 Extended Project Qualification and a Double Distinction (DD) in his Level 3 BTEC in Creative Media Production. Alongside these, he also achieved a grade 6 in his GCSE Drama and a Level 1 Award in Personal Effectiveness.
Jacob achieved a grade C in AS History, a Grade B in his Level 3 Extended Project Qualification alongside a grade 6 in GCSE Biology, grade 7 in Chemistry and grade 6 in Physics.
Student Aaron also achieved Level 3 BTEC in Creative Media Production, with a Distinction Merit.
