Our commitment to ADHD Friendly Schools
We’re excited to announce that we’ve been working with our friends at The ADHD Foundation to make sure all of our schools receive the ADHD Friendly School Award.
So what exactly is an ADHD Friendly School? It’s a place where children and young people with ADHD can achieve both their personal and academic potential in a welcoming, safe, nurturing, and exciting environment. We’re proud to announce that our schools are the first in the UK to achieve this award, with all of our schools set to be fully accredited by the end of June 2021. This will mean that our staff are even better equipped to help children and young people succeed.
To achieve the accreditation, schools have to sign up to a six-point pledge, work closely with The ADHD Foundation, and complete comprehensive staff training. The first of our schools to be formally announced will be unveiled at an event taking place on the week commencing 14th June 2021.
Commenting on the award, our CEO, Phil Jones said:
“We’ve worked in partnership with the ADHD Foundation for many years to both further the skills and understanding across our Group and also support parents, carers and professionals across the SEN sector. Achieving the ADHD Friendly School status for all of our settings and the pledges we’ve made will ensure that our staff are even better equipped to support our children and young people and ultimately help them to achieve amazing outcomes. I can’t express how proud I am of all of our teams across the country for achieving this!”
