Scuba Superstar
Pupils and the team from Oakwood Learning Centre are celebrating pupil Layla’s most recent achievement.
Layla recently completed her first open water dive, as she is undertaking a PADI scuba diving course.
Here, Layla, has all the details.
“When I first started scuba diving, I thought I was never going to accomplish what I have to this day. I thought I wouldn’t ever be able to be good and I thought it was just a one-time thing. When I started going more often, I was getting better and better by the day. When my diving instructor said I could go in open water I was buzzing and I wouldn’t stop asking when I could. The day I found out I was able to do open water was probably the best thing I had heard in a long time. The day I went open-water diving was, no lie, the best day of my life. The things I saw under the water were amazing and the experience was awesome. I don’t think in my past 13 years I have experienced something as good as that and I hope to get my own licence one day.
Head Teacher Alister Sidgwick commented
