Ella's voice reaches board of directors
Ella, a young person from Meadow View Children’s Home was recently asked by her Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) if she would like to attend Bolton Council’s Corporate Parenting Board to share her experiences of reviews.
Delighted with the offer, she accepted the invitation and met up with her IRO to discuss the importance of their role and how it impacted the young people in the home getting their views and wishes heard.
Ella attended the meeting with the Corporate Parenting Board and was asked a series of questions, which she carefully answered. The directors were impressed with her contributions to the meeting and praised her social worker and staff at Witherslack Group for all their hard work.
Since the meeting, Ella was thrilled to have been asked to join the Voice4U panel, which is a forum for youths aged 12 and upwards based within the local community.
Deborah Woolams, Registered Manager commented:
This is a fantastic opportunity for Ella and it really suits her personality and character.
The staff team at Meadow View are really proud of Ella’s achievements.
Well done Ella!
