Careers test proves to be the best

14 July 2023

Pupils from Luxborough Court School recently explored career opportunities with their Independent Careers Advisor, Michele Cretney.

During the session, they were introduced to icould.com, which allowed them to complete quizzes to discover their ‘Spirit Animal.’  The quiz helped them to identify the type of person they are, their key skills, strengths, and areas of development.  Based on this information, they were then assigned their ‘Spirit Animal’ and provided with information identifying the type of jobs that would be most suitable for them.

Michele used the outcome of the quiz to conduct one-to-one career discussions with pupils, providing them with an opportunity to explore a variety of job roles, as well as identify similar and alternative job roles. They also discussed skills, qualifications and training needed for their chosen career paths and identified gaps in the labour market where roles might emerge in the future.

Everyone agreed that the session was informative and the positive feedback speaks volumes, with one pupil saying:

"I am really excited about my future. Now I know what I need to do to reach the best job for me and I know I am supported each step of the way."

Emma Sullivan, Deputy Head Teacher, commented:

"Michele helped pupils gain clarity about their aspirations, helping them understand what steps are needed to achieve their desired job and has also provided them with more confidence about their future prospects. It is all very exciting."

Well done, everyone.
