Judge and jury deliver verdict

Pupils from Royston Class at Abbeywood School recently took part in a mock court trial. During the session, they developed their debating skills and gained a better understanding of citizenship and the justice system.
They took part in a full trial led by a ‘judge’ with some pupils providing evidence for the case and others taking on the role of jurors. It was a great opportunity for the class to work together and develop their communication skills, and it’s through this they came to the conclusion that the defendant, who was on trial for swindling was guilty as charged.
