GCSE results are a cause of celebration at Pontville
This year, GCSE results day has been a cause of celebration for students, their families and staff at Pontville School. The highlight of the year, the day signals the beginning of a new and exciting chapter, where young people gear up to paving their paths to successful and brighter futures.
To get to this point, our students have faced challenges, but through hard work, resilience and aspiration, they have shown us all that with the right level of support, understanding and a backdrop of inspirational learning environments, impossible is nothing.
All the hard work, dedication and revision sessions put in place throughout the academic year have paid off, resulting in many stories of success, including:
George achieved nine GCSE/Equivalent Level 2 qualifications.
Lewis has gained a fantastic nine GCSE/Equivalent Level 2 qualifications.
Tom achieved eight GCSE/Equivalent Level 2 qualifications.
Michael achieved 10 GCSE/Equivalent Level 2 & Level 1 qualifications.
Jamie achieved eight GCSE/Equivalent Level 2 & Level 1 qualifications.
Joel achieved 10 GCSE/Equivalent Level 2 & Level 1 qualifications.
Nathan achieved 10 GCSE/Equivalent Level 2 & Level 1 qualifications.
Justine Sims, Head Teacher commented:
"We could not be any prouder of our students! 73.9% of our GCSE students gained GCSE Grade 4 or above which is higher than the national average for all students across the country this year! Through hard work and determination they have exceeded all expectations gaining amazing results across a wide range of subjects including English Language & Literature, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Computer Science, Art, Craft and Design to name just a few. It was so lovely to see how delighted they were as they opened their results. Thanks much go to the committed and dedicated staff team who have supported our young people to achieve so highly. All of our YR11 students are continuing within education either at their local colleges or at our own 16 to 19 Centre. We look forward to sharing their continued success in the future."
