Ethan, a young person from Lakeland House Children’s Home recently celebrated his win at Bolton Council’s ‘Voices4U’ Awards 2019. The annual awards evening celebrates the achievements of children and young people in the care of the council to celebrate their accomplishments.
Ethan was one of seven young people who picked up a coveted award, winning in the category of Young Person of the Year as a result of his progress and his involvement and celebrated achievements in the fire cadets.
The evening was full of cheer as everyone enjoyed taking part in a range of fun activities including football fun, archery, arts and crafts, carnival games, balloon modelling, adorning their hands with glitter tattoos and much more.
Proud friends and staff were delighted with the news and saw this as a fantastic accolade for Ethan who proudly commented:
I can’t believe I won and I have a trophy. I am so happy and I want to show everyone my trophy!
Accompanying Ethan on the night was Rebecca Robertshaw, Care Practitioner who commented:
I am extremely proud of Ethan and the progress he has made whilst living at the home. He has been able to manage his anxieties and as a result has been able to achieve outstanding progress and his involvement in the fire cadets further demonstrates his success!
