Pupils take to the polls
04 November 2022
Pupils from Cumberland School recently went to the ballot box to cast their vote to elect a new representative from each tutor group to form their new Student Council for the academic year.
The pupils were eager to take part in this important event for the school, but also learnt about democracy and how the voting process works.
Each tutor group visited the polling station in the school hall where they received a ballot paper to record their vote and deposit them in the ballot boxes inside the voting booths.
The newly elected student council will meet every half term to discuss and implement ideas for their tutor group and the whole school, where applicable.
We wonder if the next Prime Minister is in their midst?
