Its a bugs life!
Pupils and staff from Cumberland School recently celebrated Earth Day, learning about the environment, and the importance of being kinder to the planet.
Pastoral Care Assistant, Joe Hanrahan-Bradford was responsible for leading the project and provides more detail:
For our Earth Day, we spent the afternoon learning about the importance of the planet, the environment and the impact we are having on it as humans. One element we chose to begin to help was nature, specifically bugs. With the growing lack of areas for bugs to live and reproduce, we are seeing bugs decrease in numbers. Bugs are essential for helping with pollination and farming so we decided to help by creating, and building a bug hotel.
As you can see from the image below, the bug hotel is quite spectacular!
