Trips and tasty treats
Pupils from Chilworth House Upper School have recently enjoyed trips to bring their classroom learning to life.
The Fuze Centre
Year 7 pupils enjoyed a trip to The Fuze Centre, which provides coding, gaming and digital learning activities to the local community.
During the session, they accessed Nintendo Switch consoles that were connected to a smartboard and got to work, learning how to write a programme that enabled them to change the font size and colour with the option to even write a message. Their learning continued as they explored the colour options available while also understanding pixel quality.
To complete the day, they got stuck into a fun session on the retro arcade games.
BBC Good Food Show
Year 11 pupils studying hospitality took a trip to the BBC Good Food Show in Birmingham to enhance their cooking skills and knowledge acquired in food technology to another level.
During the day, they watched culinary heroes cook delicious dishes, including Ainsley Harriott, Nadiya Hussain, James Martin and many more. They also tried and tasted many cuisines from around the world, discovering new and interesting flavours. After trying many categories of food, they agreed that the fudge and brownie section was a true hit!
American Theme Day
The Student School Council Team recently re-introduced an international food canteen day where pupils tasted foods from all over the world.
The first of these days involved an American Day, where everyone enjoyed a selection of hot dogs and fries followed by delicious waffles and dairy ice cream.
Well done, everyone!
