Children in Need 2022

09 December 2022

Children, young people and staff from across Witherslack Group recently got into the spirit of this year’s BBC Children in Need, by taking part in a range of activities to raise money and create awareness for the great cause.

The charity's mission is to ensure every child has the childhood they deserve and the support they need to thrive. They fund thousands of charities and projects in every corner of the UK, that support children and young people to feel and be safer, have improved mental health and wellbeing, form better, more positive relationships and be given more equal opportunities to flourish.

Cedar House School

At Cedar House School, Class AE rolled up their sleeves, creating trays of decorated Pudsey Bear biscuits to sell to staff and their friends.

One pupil, cooked up a storm with her special fried chicken dish, which she created at home and brought in to sell at school. Through all their hard work and commitment, pupils raised over £75.

Chilworth House School

The School Council team from Chilworth House School recently organised a non-uniform day where pupils and staff dressed up in yellow or spots.  As part of their celebrations, they arranged a cake sale where everyone rolled up their sleeves to create a selection of scrumptious bakes, including chocolate rice crispy cakes, chocolate and Victoria sponges, iced buns and much, much more.  The day was a great success as they raised over £50.

Chilworth House Upper School

Over at Chilworth House Upper School, pupils always enjoy celebrating the annual celebration and this year, they certainly pulled out all the stops to create awareness for this worthy cause. From selling cakes to braving leg waxing, they also guessed how many sweets in the jar, cream pie throwing and wearing yellow or spots. It certainly was a great day full of activity, raising over £160.

Well done, everyone!
