Pedalling for a purpose
Pupils and the team from Cedar House School recently took on a challenge to cycle the distance from Bentham to London, a whopping 274 miles on a spinning bike.
Driven by a desire to support their local community, the pupils committed to raising funds to help families finance their children's residential trip organised by Bentham Primary School.
The dream team from Cedar House approached the challenge with a well-structured plan. They took turns on the bikes, ensuring continuous movement throughout the event. The challenge kicked off at 9 am on Thursday and continued relentlessly until 11 am the following day. By lunchtime on day one, an impressive 142 miles had already been conquered, and on Friday morning, Kate McNally, Deputy Pastoral Care Manager, accompanied by a Year 6 pupil, tackled the final 4.9 miles with the school community coming together to rally behind them during the last stretch and cheer on their efforts.
In true Cedar House School spirit, the success of the challenge was celebrated during an assembly. Through teamwork, determination, and exceptional commitment, the team not only conquered the physical distance but also highlighted what can be achieved from community-driven initiatives.
What a remarkable achievement.
