Broadbeck’s quality shines through
Broadbeck Learning Centre was recently assessed for the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM).
IQM provide schools with a nationally recognised framework to guide their inclusion journey. The IQM team help schools evaluate and measure how they are performing; empowering them to improve and grow. When they’re successful, they recognise the school’s achievement through a system of highly valued awards that provide external validation of their inclusive status. There are over 5,500 schools in the UK who have either received an IQM Inclusive School Award, or are actively working towards meeting the standard required, with Broadbeck being one.
The assessor who came to the Learning Centre was impressed and recommended that the team go forward as a centre of excellence. The process requires staff to meet criteria set out by the organisation ranging from the use of ICT to support learning, to leadership and management.
The assessor said that the Learning Centre was “a wonderful place full of really skilled and committed staff”. He continued with his praise by saying that he was“phenomenally impressed by the atmosphere staff create and the progress that learners clearly make”.
The commendation didn’t end there with the assessor saying that “Broadbeck could offer a great deal in developing the inclusion agenda within the local area and nationally”, encouraging the team to work with the IQM on research projects for SEMH in the next year.
Well done to everyone at Broadbeck.
