Bridgeway School - Pupils commemorate Remembrance Day
In the lead up to Remembrance Day, pupils and staff from Bridgeway School have been learning about its significance. The memorial day, which has been observed since the end of the First World War, remembers members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.
This year, they school was honoured to be invited to the local cenotaph in Leyland by the family of a trooper, who served alongside Daniel Flanagan, Deputy Head Teacher.
Four pupils attended the service, representing the school with ultimate dignity and compassion, laying a reef in memory of all those who lost their lives. They also found their socially distanced interactions with friends and family of those who had lost loved ones very educating and moving. The rest of the school population marked the 11th hour by observing a two minutes silence.
Well done everyone.
