New chef cooks up a storm
Pupils and staff from Bridgeway School were excited to welcome their new Cook in Charge, David Graham, who brings a wealth of culinary skills and experience to the school canteen.
Chef David has worked in various settings, including serving the military, hotels, and country clubs and holding the role of Head Chef at Eurotunnel and Pfizer. Impressive, right?
His main objective is to encourage pupils to try new healthy foods from around the world, and within the first few weeks and with help of Assistant Cook Ann-Marie Foxcroft, they prepared a Chinese banquet.
Their winning streak continued during a staff well-being session, where they impressed the team by cooking up a storm with a tasting menu to get staff feedback on a new menu for the school. The proposed new dishes included chicken tikka wraps, fish wraps, beef stroganoff, chicken al a king, chicken and pesto wraps, tofu wraps, nachos with hot cheese sauce and sweet potatoes fries. Their creations certainly didn’t disappoint as they introduced new flavours and their presentation didn't disappoint either.
Now, across the school, there is great anticipation and excitement for lunchtime, and they are already looking forward to next term's menu.
