Bridgeway School Blog 5: Mock exam success
Year 10 and 11 pupils from Bridgeway School recently sat their mock exams and the results have been a cause of celebration.
Teacher, Laurence Harwood shares all the details with the school’s blogging team.
Completing formal exams under exam conditions is quite often a new experience for many of our pupils. This is a new and unknown experience and we are so proud of every single pupil who completed them.
Lead up
In the weeks leading up to the exams, we focused on exam preparation tips and techniques to help our pupils take responsibility for their revision and preparation. They created an exam timetable and made notes on revision topics in their pupil planners. On exam days, the whole school community played their part by creating a calm atmosphere around the building to support them.
Exceeding expectations
The results speak for themselves with our students exceeding their own expectations, overcoming anxieties, and gaining good mock GCSE results.
Celebrations all round
As a reward for all their hard work, the pupils were rewarded with some down-time at the end of exam week and enjoyed either a takeaway lunch or breakfast. After this great success, we are looking forward to seeing continued academic progress when they complete the next round of mocks in March.
Amazing work – well done everyone!
