Exclusive tour of temple
Year 9 pupils from Bridgeway School recently visited the Gujurat Hindu Society in Preston to learn more about the Hindu faith.
During the visit, they witnessed worshippers entering the mandir (temple) and praying, with a unique opportunity to speak to the President of the Society, Mr Patel, who also arranged a tour of the mandir where they saw the bells, alters and various shrines that represented the different gods.
Pupils found the tour to be very engaging and were eager to ask questions about the scriptures and words which decorated the walls and ceilings of the mandir.
At the end of the visit, they all participated in a meditation activity, which they described as relaxing and satisfying.
Pupils thoroughly enjoyed their day, finding it culturally enlightening and a valuable learning experience reinforcing their understanding of Hinduism.
