Staff present work at national event
Great things happen when we work together, and here is a fine example of when schools, departments, and even pupils work together.
Oversands School initiated a short study over the last few months to consider what has been learned over the lockdowns. Paul Hennelly, the school’s autism lead joined forces with Stuart Sutton, Media Teacher for this collaborative exercise that drew on the expertise of the therapy team and staff from Bridgeway and Cedar House schools.
With some technical assistance from pupils, Stuart used recorded interviews, animations, and his media magic to create a multimedia video. This video was shared with autism professionals from the north of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland via a National Autistic Society (NAS) virtual event on 24th March 2021, and was very well received.
Stephen Pyott, Accreditation Adviser from NAS commented:
"I thought both presentations were absolutely brilliant. I hope you had a chance to read some of the comments during the presentations. They were so positive. I’ve learnt a lot, and I’m sure the other attendees will benefit greatly from your insights."
Well done to everyone involved!
