Wonders of the Warhammer World
Pupils from Butler’s Leap Campus recently visited the Warhammer World in Nottingham, where they spent the day taking part in various workshops.
Since September, pupils have been spending their lunchtimes getting to grips with the world of Warhammer, a tabletop battle game which puts players in command of armies from fantasy and science fiction universes. Players collect and paint forces of miniature plastic models and use them to play out clashes on a tabletop. The pupils have developed their creative talents, critical thinking, and planning skills by collecting and painting miniature models.
Their day at the home of Warhammer was not just a fun outing but a valuable educational experience. It commenced with a guided museum tour, offering insights into its rich history. Through interactive displays and informative guides, the pupils gained a deeper understanding of this captivating universe.
Next, the pupils took part in a series of workshops aimed at enhancing their skills and broadening their understanding. These sessions provided hands-on opportunities to develop painting techniques and delve into the rules and strategies to improve their game. From mastering brush strokes to strategising for battles, the pupils embraced each workshop with enthusiasm and determination.
It was a great day, and pupils can’t wait to put what they have learned into practice.
