Whole school well-being

06 October 2023

Avon Park School recently validated their Healthy Schools Status. The award demonstrates that the school continues to embed and improve areas such as PSHE, Food and Healthy Eating, Sport, Active Learning and Health and Wellbeing.

The aim of the award is to support schools to help their children and young people to grow healthily, safely and responsibly.  The Healthy School's toolkit builds on the underlying principles of the English National Healthy School Programme and has been revised in consultation with schools with content aligned to current Ofsted guidance.

The Student Council played a pivotal role in shaping the school's approach, contributing to the development of well-balanced meal plans for breaks and lunch times, demonstrating the school’s collaborative ethos.

Deputy Head Teacher, Ed Wright commented:

“We’re so proud to have been awarded Healthy School Status. This proves that as well as the brilliant work the team at the school does to develop the academic outcomes for all our pupils, we are  working equally hard to improve their health and well-being.”

The school can now proudly display this emblem of excellence, demonstrating its commitment to nurturing not only the minds but also the well-being of its pupils.

Well done, team!
