Peddling their way to success
Year 5 and 6 pupils from Ashbrooke School recently took part in a three day Bikeability programme.
Bikeability is the government's national cycle training programme and equips children with vital life skills as well as an understanding of how to cycle on today's roads. Pupils not only learn to cycle, but they also gain independence, social skills and a sense of well-being.
Most pupils completed their Level 1 training and then went on to progress to Level 2, demonstrating their confidence and ability to cycle using our roads.
One pupil commented:
"I am really proud of myself because I was very nervous but I didn't give up and I am now more confident when riding my bike."
The staff team were proud to witness the pupils working towards the award and look forward to seeing them out and about putting their new life skill into practice.
Well done, everyone!
