Pupils and staff from Ashbrooke School were recently delighted to learn that they have achieved the Encompass Schools Award from Northumbria Police.

For the last few months. pupils in Key Stages 2 and 3 have been taking part in series of workshops delivered by Joy Tennet, School Liaison Office of Northumbria Police. The aim of the project is to break the cycle of domestic abuse and helps young people to recognise what a positive relationship or friendship looks like, what is acceptable behaviour and what can happen if a relationship is unhealthy.

The pupils enjoyed the interactive lessons where they explored emotions and empathy, and rules and expectations.

A very well done to Ashbrooke School on their amazing achievement from everyone at Witherslack Group.
