Big brunch for Mind
The team at Ashbrooke School recently organised a coffee morning to allow parents and carers to connect with each other. The event enabled attendees to bond over refreshments while engaging in meaningful conversations around challenges and seeking advice from others.
Steven Kenny, Teaching Assistant, and a member of Andy’s Man Club, offered to come along, where he offered guidance and encouragement to those in need.
The event was organised to celebrate a national initiative, ‘Big Brunch for Mind.’The charity Mind raises awareness and provides support for mental health. Mind’s Big Bruch is a campaign which aims to raise money while also creating safe hubs within communities, where individuals can go to seek advice and support. One parent commented:
“It was lovely to be able to ask other parents about secondary – even though our child is still young we worry about what it will look like.”
Another shared:
“It has been a really nice morning, great idea”.
This gathering provided a comfortable and supportive space for people to talk openly and share their thoughts and worries.
What a fantastic initiative. Well done everyone!
