Beach School activities
Come rain or shine, Key Stage 2 pupils from Ashbrooke attend Beach School to enjoy a Friday afternoon adventure full of activities.
Teacher, Katey Younger shares more detail:
"Before our weekly trip takes part, a risk assessment is made to check the weather and tide times, enabling staff to plan an activity based on these conditions."
She continued:
"We have recently worked together to build shelters, and looked at rock classification. Through our visits, pupils demonstrated resilience during adverse weather conditions and excellent teamwork and communication skills. We reflect on our practice weekly and set ourselves targets for the following week."
Here are a couple of comments made by pupils attending Beach School:
"I love collecting the rocks and seeing all the things that the sea can create."
"I love being in the sea."
Katey finished by saying:
"We look forward to further developing skills and linking our findings with the rest of the school curriculum."
Great work, everyone!
