Patricia’s Story

“The once reserved, self-conscious Patricia is no more and instead friends and family enjoy the company of a young lady with a good sense of humour, who is mature and has a great sense of self.”

Patricia’s Story

Patricia joined Stonycroft Children’s Home after the breakdown of her foster care placement due to her aggressive behaviours that worsened over time. The extremely angry girl was in foster care with her siblings from a very young age and as time went on it was agreed that she needed a more structured support system

Support

Staff from Stonycroft could see that Patricia had great potential and with the right level of support and care she could feel safe and achieve. As she started to build relationships with staff, Patricia opened up to them and shared her love of Lego, Marvel Characters and cars. Armed with a wealth of information staff were able to share her interests with both staff at her school and therapists, who were able to plan sessions that were of interest to her

Achievement

Patricia is now excelling academically and her social interactions have improved immensely. The once reserved, self-conscious girl is no more and instead friends and family enjoy the company of a young lady with a good sense of humour, who is mature and has a great sense of self.

As she starts to build the foundations for her future, by selecting her GCSE subjects, the next steps look full of promise and positivity
