Chilworth House School recently hosted a Family Fun Day where pupils and their families enjoyed taking part in a range of activities whilst eating delicious foods and getting up close and personal with some animals.
Teaching Assistant, Parul took some time out to catch us up on the successful event.
Our Family Fun Day Day started off with the Year 6 leavers assembly where memories were shared through videos and photos; there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. The assembly recognised the progress of each pupil and during the assembly, acrostic poems were read aloud by pupils. Intricate water fountains and ceramic structures made by pupils were on show which they were extremely proud of.
After the assembly, a whole school barbecue was enjoyed by everyone and after eating the yummy food, parents and pupils enjoyed various activities on offer including, dodge ball, face painting, and exploring the school’s forest area. They also got the opportunity to get up close with some fluffy animals; alpacas and lamas and some reptiles including lizards, geckos and tree snakes thanks to Lenny’s Lizards.
Children were beaming with pride whilst showing parents round the classrooms and their work from throughout the year.
The day was filled with laughter and lots of excitement as parents and carers were made to feel welcomed to the school by pupils and staff. A special thanks goes to Melanie Bennett, Pastoral Assistant who made it all happen!
It certainly looks like it was a great day!
