Welcome To SENsational
Our podcast is all about celebrating neurodiversity, offering advice and support to empower children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Neurodiversity & Identity
We're joined by Tony Lloyd, CEO of The ADHD Foundation Neurodiversity Charity, for a discussion around the challenges of neurodiversity and identity, with a focus on the correlation between the LGBTQ+ and neurodiversity community, and hints and tips for supporting young people with discovering themselves.
Supporting Family Dynamics
Lisa Rudge, Director of Parent Services from The ADHD Foundation Neurodiversity Charity, and Heather Morley, ADHD Advanced Project Manager from our Group, sit with us for a discussion exploring the impact of ADHD & Autism on family dynamics, sibling rivalries, understanding and respecting boundaries, and so much more.
Understanding ARFID
Nicole Kirkland and Emma Taylor from ARFID Awareness shed light on understanding ARFID with our children and young people. We discuss some of the key challenges parents and carers face with the condition, plus useful ideas for reducing anxiety around the dinner table to make meal times as positive as possible.
Grandparents & Neurodiversity
On this episode, Anne-Marie Harrison, Education Director from Ideas Afresh, joins us to share her personal grandparent experience of helping to raise neurodivergent children. Anne-Marie offers hints and tips for being a source of support for our own children, while helping to create inclusive and supporting environments for the whole family.
