Pupils Lewis and Charlie from Avon Park School took the brave step of submitting their artwork to the Rugby Open Art Gallery competition. After a long wait the pair were delighted to learn that their work was selected for the exhibition, which will be running until January 2019.

Lewis is currently working towards his GCSE in Art, Craft and Design whilst Charlie who does not study art, used acrylic pouring techniques as part of his engagement strategy; astonishingly, his work was awarded highly commended by the judges for his abstract flowers.

Pam Bolus, Arts and College Links Teacher, commented:

We are very proud of their achievements particularly as this is the first time the school has entered the competition. Their work has been admired by staff and students alike and now by the residents and visitors to Rugby. It is a great example to our younger pupils that anything is possible with some hard work!

Well done!
